FibramulchTM Insulation Hydro-seeding with Fibramulch, sometimes referred to as hydro-mulching, is a grass planting process. This grass planting process is fast, efficient, and economical and is frequently more effective and more economical than conventional seeding. The process begins by mixing mulch, seed, fertilizer and water in a tank. The material is then pumped from the tank and sprayed onto the ground. The mixed material is often referred to as a slurry, and looks like a soupy batch of green paper mache. Once applied to the soil, the material enhances initial growth by providing a micro-environment beneficial to seed germination or sprig development. If the area to be planted is smooth and manicured, the resulting grass surface will also be smooth and manicured. Golf greens are frequently hydro-mulched with FibramulchTM . Hydro-seeding will produce turf which is almost weed free. The only weed seed which can be introduced must come from seed or sprig contamination. Grass seed is usually well controlled and labeled in this respect. However, weed seed is almost always present in the soil, and when the moisture and fertilizers are applied, weed seed can emerge. With FibramulchTM you are guaranteed a 100% weed free and uncontaminated mulch for hydro-seeding. The Function of FibramulchTM Natural wood fibre based FibramulchTM is manufactured by Can-Cell Industries Inc. Raw materials are processed to achieve fibrous characteristics, and green-dye is added for aesthetics and application monitoring. A good FibramulchTM application will reduce moisture evaporation from the soil. Grass seed needs soil moisture from irrigation or rainfall to germinate and grow. Poor growth is usually due to insufficient moisture. A good FibramulchTM application also provides erosion resistance. When soil erosion is reduced or prevented the seeds are held in place and a more uniform coverage of grass is assured. Natural wood fibre based FibramulchTM also provides an organic, humus-like enhancement to the soil. This enhancement occurs when the FibramulchTM begins the decomposition process. The fibre decomposes over a period of time, ranging anywhere from a few months up to a year. The time required for decomposition is affected by the amount of nitrogen available and the temperature. The Features and Benefits of FibramulchTM
The amount of FibramulchTM required per acre is 15 per cent less than leading competitors according to the Ontario Ministry of Transportation. This results in lower costs due to less material used, less handling and warehousing, and a quicker application. FibramulchTM - Product Data Product Name FibramulchTM - A specially processed cellulose fibre product, fiberized to provide maximum advantage of it's inherent physical properties. Product Description FibramulchTM is a fibrous mulch made from selected stocks of paper. It readily combines with water to form a slurry which may be spray applied over the ground with hydro-seeding equipment. Composition - FibramulchTM contains natural ligneous fibrils, surfactant, dye, and process moisture (approximately 15-20 per cent by weight of packaged material). FibramulchTM is a environmentally friendly, 100% weed-free mulch, safe, and easy to handle, and will aid in the successful establishment of turf or other seeded or sprigged ground covers. FibramulchTM will mix quickly with water, seed and fertilizer to form a homogeneous slurry which can be applied evenly and effectively in one economical step. The uniform quality assists in the prevention of clogging in hydro-seeding equipment. The green dye coloring allows the operator to provide even coverage visually without bare spots or excess water. Technical Data Product Characteristics - Nominal Value (Dry Material), Organic Matter (Fibrous Mulch) = 95%, Inorganic Matter (Minerals) 5%, Water Absorption Potential 800- 900%, Slurry Acidity/Alkalinity = PH 6-7, Moisture Content (Packaged Product) = 15-20% Application Fill the hydro-seeder as follows: Add water, seed mix, and fertilizer; then add Fibramulch. Add Fibratack (tackifier) when required. Mix thoroughly, then spray evenly onto soil surface as per landscaper's directions. For new and retrofit applications prepare soil according to landscaper's directions. Maintenance Fibramulch, once applied in the hydro-seeding process requires sufficient irrigation.
