HUNDRED BAR & KITCHEN, EDMONTON ALBERTA

SUPERIOR CABINETS, EDMONTON ALBERTA

Superior Cabinets new facility in Edmonton’s west end of was in need of a fire rated wall and Q deck. Clark Builders in Edmonton awarded Celufibre Industries the contract to spray the wall, Q deck and joists to meet the required fire rating. HiBar Spray Applied Fire Proofing was used to accomplish this task. The showroom ceiling was designed without a drop ceiling to give the feeling of openness. Once the HiBar was sprayed, Superior Cabinets decided to apply a coat of K13 black acoustical spray to darken the ceiling to hide HVAC, pipes and anything else that would normally be left exposed.

The result is a beautiful ceiling that is not the focal point in a beautifully designed showroom that spotlights the cabinets and furnishings that Superior Cabinets produces.

K13 LEVEL 1 TRAINING, EDMONTON ALBERTA

On June 17-19, 2008 we held a Level 1 training to certify new K13 sprayers.
Attendance was great as we had sprayers from Ontario to British Columbia. Bill Boyer from International Cellulose Corporation was on hand to show the group the in’s and out’s of proper techniques from set up to completion of the job.
If you are interested in receiving information on the next training class contact Bob Menchaca at bob@can-cell.com

WP BATE SCHOOL, SASKATOON SASKATCHEWAN

Kindrachuk-Agrey Architecture from Saskatoon was contacted by Saskatoon Public Schools concerning an extreme noise problem at W.P. Bate Community School. Kindrachuk-Agrey contacted Can-Cell Industries about K13 spray on insulation. Spray Jones of Regina was contracted to do the job during spring break in April 2008.

They sprayed the main entrance hall, cafeteria, general purpose room, library, arts and science lab. Total sprayed area was 8100 ft2. K13 white at 1 inch was applied.

Once the job was completed and the students returned to school, the principle had this to say “Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and ears – Spray Jones has done an amazing job of sound proofing our acoustic problems in this new school! It’s amazing how wonderful our school sounds now! Thanks a lot! Kids aren’t as loud now and we can hear conversations without the tinging echo! Great job!”

ALBERTA WILBERT SALES, EDMONTON ALBERTA

This 8000 square foot warehouse in Edmonton, Alberta Canada was in need of thermal insulation for 3 exterior walls. The owners previously had applied K13 white to only the top 10 feet of one wall to help with condensation problems on a south facing wall, but with new tenants moving into the building and requiring complete thermal control the owners decided to apply K13 white to the remaining walls. K13 white was sprayed on at a 3 inch depth. K-13 insulates by creating dead air spaces between and within its hollow fibres. Because K-13 fibres are sprayed-in-place, they fill cracks, seams and voids, forming a monolithic coating over the substrate which helps reduce air infiltration. Unlike prefabricated insulations, K-13 has no voids or compressed areas to reduce thermal efficiency. The result is a more effective in-place product with exceptionally low heat loss characteristics. The patented adhesive utilized in the installation of K-13 adheres to virtually all common construction materials including: metal, wood, concrete, urethane, styrofoam and glass. Some surfaces may require pre-treatment prior to installing K-13. This unique adhesive provides unequalled strength allowing applications of 3/4 inch to over 5 inches without mechanical support. This capability provides R-values from 3 to over 19. The resilient fibres of K-13 absorb sound energy instead of reflecting it, reducing reverberation time. Excessive noise is reduced with the application of K-13 while greatly improving ambient sound quality in a wide variety of building projects including auditoriums, sports facilities, detention facilities, television and sound studios, convention centers and parking garages.
